Q: Can the individual network ports be configured onto different networks and route between them?
A: Yes it is possible to configure port individually and route between them. If you are referring to VLAN, then please check RUTXR1 VLAN.
Q: Wifi module – will it support 802.11ac?
A: Yes, it will! Wave-2 802.11ac Dual Band WiFi.
Q: Regarding 2 Sim Cards, are there 2 GSM module? Also for a scenario that we have 2 different providers on each slot. Can we specify for example if you can connect to specific Provider ID then use sim 1 otherwise use sim 2.
A: No, router has only one LTE module, so at the time only one SIM can be active. Second SIM card is for failover functionality. What you are asking looks like custom solution, for this please contact your sales manager.
Q: The ports are PoE?
A: Ethernet ports do not support PoE.
Q: Do you have specialized console cable or a cisco console cable will do?
A: We offer this cable as an accessory, but other console cables with similar features should work just fine: Console Cable 1.8m
Q: Do you have plans for 5G?
A: Of course! We have dedicated RnD resources working on our future 5G devices, but at the same time we are monitoring the market demand situation to make sure we release 5G devices once it’s commercially viable from device cost and demand perspective.
Q: Is it possible to use GPON SFP on the Router SFP port?
A: XR1 supports all SFP tranceivers, which meets SFP standard, with exception of SFP , which is not supporte.
Q: Will the USB-to-serial functionality in the future be expanded to support multi-port adapters?
A: We will consider this functionality to be added. Can you be more specific and write to us? Please fill out contact us form.
Q: Is there the possibility to create user and customize ‘configuration change’ permissions?
A: Sure, see more about RUTXR1 Users.
Q: Can you team / load balance the Sims or only failover?
A: You can use load balancing between wired wan options like fiber or ethernet together with LTE and WiFi.
Q: Can both mobile connections be active at the same time, or are those 2 SIM cards just in active/standby mode?
A: No, router has only one LTE module, and second SIM is for failover.
Q: Whats the Spatial Streams of 2.4 and 5 GHz?
A: 2×2 MIMO same as other RUTX routers.
Q: Have you a devices that support PoE?
A: Yes, TSW100 switch supports 802.3 af and at PoE standards. However RUTXR1 cannot be powered neither active or passive PoE.
Q: Hi, can it work as a cluster (VRRP network redundancy protocol for example).
A: Yes, RUTXR1 has VRRP support as other our routers. More information about RUTXR1 VRRP.
Q: Support band bonding?
A: RUTXR1 use LTE-A Cat 6 module, which supports carrier aggregation. If you are asking about different WAN interfaces bonding, then it is not supported and only Load balancing can be used to spread load between diffenrent WAN’s.
Q: The 3G/4G modem can be connected to both celular networks (sim cards) at once, or does it use only one at a time?
A: RUTXR1 at a time can use only one SIM card, as it has 1 Mobile module and second SIM is for failover situations. If you are looking for dual modem device, you are in luck – check out our RUTX12 – it is one of our bestsellers in terms of new devices released this year.
Q: Do you provide RMS on-premise (still with licenses of course)?
A: We do offer RMS on-premise!
Q: In the topology of RMS, I see RUTX12. Does it the same with RUTXR1?
A: Our RMS is compatible with all Teltonika Networks routers and gateways. So yes, if you use X12, XR1 – RMS will offer the same benefits.
Q: Can you team / load balance the Sims or only failover?
A: RUTXR1 has only one LTE module and only one SIM card can work at a time. Second card is for failover situations.
Q: Is the operating system still based on OpenWRT and which version of the OpenWRT?
A: Operating system is the same as for all X series routers!
Q: Why would you use the RUTXR1 instead of for example a RUTX12?
A: Several reasons:
- If you need 19 rack form factor – XR1
- If you need fiber optics WAN – XR1
- If you desire to have dual redundant power inputs – XR1
- If you need smaller device, DIN rail mount or more speed with DUAL LTE instead of single LTE – then you should go with the X12.
Q: Can you share this presentation after the meeting?
A: We will upload the recording of the webinar to our Youtube channel, make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it. If you desire to have the presentation file, it’s best you contact us and we discuss what material would best suit your agenda.
Q: Could u please mention the exact througput of the router?
A: Could you be a bit more specific? The throughput really depends on which service you are using – SFP/LTE/Ethernet? Maximum throughput using SFP WAN is 1 Gbps, same is with each LAN port. For LTE throughput, this value highly depends on area cellular coverage, but XR1 used LTE-A module is rated for 300Mbps download and 50Mbps upload speeds.
Q: Regarding the mobile network connectivity- is it the same module/firmware as the RUTX11 ?- reason I ask is that our experience is that the X11 tends to not leave LTE – even if the throughput is really poor- and there is a better 3G site nearby.
A: RUTXR1 uses same LTE module and RUTOS version as RUTX11. If you have this issue with LTE, please contact your sales representative for RnD query.
Q: The RUTXR1 will be delivered with Power Supply, Rack Mounting plates and all antennas in the box right?
A: Yes. All mentioned accesories will be in the box. There is also in Youtube: RUTXR1 Quick Start Guide Indeed! You can see all box contents here – RUTXR1 ordering section.
Q: There is no optional PoE on the switchports?
A: No, XR1 cannot work neither as PD or PSE device.
Q: Does the sfp support dsl sfps?
A: XR1 supports all SFP tranceivers, which meets SFP standard, with exception of SFP , which is not supported.
Q: Do the 2 sims also support loadbalancing?
A: No, second is for failover.
Q: What kind of SFP are precisely supported? Are there any special requirments for SFP(OEM) coding?
A: Any SFP tranceiver which meets SFP standard will work with RUTXR1 with exception of SFP tranceivers, which are not supported.
Q: Does support MPLS?
A: No, MPLS currently is not supported.
Q: Can we use the it as a cell signal booster?
A: No, RUTXR1 is a router and not signal booster device.
Q: What is a reasonable distance for the 4G antenna to be from the racked XR1? Many comms rooms are not ideally placed for a good 4G signal.
A: This depends on area cellular coverage and used coaxial cable. However in most cases with good quality cable, you can go 10 meters for sure.
Q: Any chance of eSim?
A: We have the capabilities to implement eSim in our routers. Please contact us for more information!
Q: It support VRRP?
A: Yes, it supports.
Q: Does the router support OVPN?
A: Yes, it supports OpenVPN and other VPNs as well.
Q: Regarding the console, by this new feature we can do/control/maintain exactly the same things as by RMS ? Is might be the solution if the router is down to check what’s gonna, is it for that case ?
A: Well, having a physical access to the router via console port will give you all control of the device. The same amount of control you would get using RMS, but with RMS you can do even more like access other equipment connected to the XR1. Overall the value of console port is for on-site support engineers who can access and control the device withouth removing anything from other LAN ports or looking for the right WiFi password.
Q: Can to isp connection can be provided at a time one to WAN and another direct fiber?
A: iber and Wired ports are combined and only one can work at a time.
Q: It also supports sfp vdsl modules?
A: XR1 supports all SFP tranceivers, which meets SFP standard, with exception of SFP , which is not supported.
Q: Is RMS free to use over the router service period?
A: Yes, it is 30 days free of charge with every device!
Q: Does the WAN port support PPPoE connections?
A: Yes, PPPoE is supported as in other RUTX routers.
Q: What is range for 2.4 gh WiFi?
A: Our tests shown that XR1 2.4 GHz WiFi in open field has range ~150 meters.
Q: Does the LTE module works active-active or active-backup?
A: RUTXR1 second SIM crad is for failover and they both cannot work at the same time.
Q: What happened if the isp connection went down? LTE is becoming active automoticaly.
A: If failover is activated and router has LTE connecion, the yes if will change WAN from fiber to LTE.
Q: How many ipsec vpn supports.
A: Up to 100.
Q: If i need to install package over webui after 30 days can i do it?
A: If you are asking about router WebUI accessibility after RMS 30 days trial period, then only when new RMS credit is assigned to router you will be able to access device.
Q: Is there any redundancy in case of Sim card fail or low network connectivity?
A: XR1 for internet connectivity can use LTE, Wired/Fiber WAN, WiFi. In case of LTE failure, if router WAN is connected to WiFi or Wired/SFP and failover activated it will be able to switch interface automatically.
Q: Do you have centralize management console which can manage router from central location or from any where over Cloud?
A: Yes, you can use RMS for this purpose.
Q: You mentioned the Console cable as optional.
